Astyanax Lupus Black (b. 27 April, 1983) was a half-blood wizard and only son of Regulus and Athene Black. He attended Hogwarts from 1994 to 2001 along with his fraternal twin Astra.
Etymology[]
- The name 'Astyanax' originates from Greek mythology where Astyanax was the son of the Trojan hero Hector. It could be seen as a reference or link to his mother's name, Athene, which is also of Greek myth origin.
- 'Lupus' is the name of the wolf constellation found in the southern hemisphere.Which makes reference to the Black family's tradition of naming their children after stars or constellations. It can also refer to the incurable immune system illness, probably genetic in origin and mainly suffered by females. Although it is not the later it is worth noting that he later went to become a healer, like his mother, aiming to find cures for untreatable illnesses.
